Working together
What is a forward deployed engineer?
A forward deployed engineer is an implementation-focused engineer who works close to your operation. Rather than selling software from a distance, they learn the workflow, connect systems, build what is needed, and stay involved as the work becomes real.
What does embedded engineering mean at NovaLabs?
It means our work begins with your operating context: the people doing the work, the systems around them, the constraints, and the decisions that matter. The appropriate level of access and sponsor involvement is established during discovery.
Are you consultants, developers, or recruiters?
We bring engineering capacity to implementation. We can advise where it supports the work, but NovaLabs is not a recruiting firm and does not sell a generic SaaS agent.
What kinds of organizations are a fit?
Teams with an important operational workflow, a committed sponsor, and a clear reason to improve how work moves are generally a strong starting point. The work can suit founders, CEOs, COOs, and technology leaders.
How involved does our team need to be?
A client sponsor and access to the people closest to the workflow are important. Your team helps clarify priorities, review working increments, and make operational decisions.
How do you decide what to work on first?
We look for a meaningful operational problem with a reachable path to data, systems, and feedback. We assess urgency, impact, feasibility, adoption, and the dependencies around the work.
How is pricing determined?
Pricing is a custom quote based on the engagement shape, required coverage, technical complexity, systems and data context, and the level of embedded support needed.
How long does an engagement take?
Timing depends on scope, system access, workflow complexity, stakeholder availability, and deployment requirements. Discovery is the right place to establish a practical sequence.
Can you work with our existing stack?
That is the starting assumption. During assessment we map the systems, interfaces, data, security considerations, and constraints that will affect implementation.
What data and access do you need?
Only what is appropriate to assess, build, test, and operate the agreed work. Requirements vary by workflow and are discussed with the client sponsor before implementation begins.
Do you replace our internal engineering team?
No. NovaLabs can complement an internal team, accelerate a priority area, or provide focused implementation capacity where it is useful. The working relationship is shaped around your organization.
What happens after a system is deployed?
We can continue to monitor the workflow, address improvements, document the operation, and support adoption as part of the engagement plan.
Do you provide handover and documentation?
Training and documentation are part of the delivery process when relevant to the work. The exact approach depends on the systems, users, and internal ownership model.
How do we get started?
Book a discovery call. We will discuss the operational issue, the people involved, the current tools, and whether an embedded implementation engagement is a sensible next step.
Do you offer AI implementation services?
Yes. AI implementation services may include workflow assessment, assistants, document and knowledge flows, evaluation, integration, rollout, and adoption support.
Is an embedded AI engineer the same as a forward deployment engineer?
The terms are often used similarly when describing engineers who work inside a client context to put technology into operation. The useful question is whether the engagement brings the right implementation capability to your actual workflow.
